So you don’t have a Valentine

Tips for singles.

The fact that you’re not in  a relationship doesn’t mean you should sit in a corner and keep to yourself this valentine. It’s a day of love and quite frankly, it shouldn’t take a significant other showering you with gifts to feel loved. Love yourself first of all, before requesting love from another. Wondering how to spend the day, here’s how.

Dress up for no reason

Looking good has to be the best feeling in the world. It’s exhilarating, rebuilds your confidence, and the compliments that usually follow thereafter would serve as a good reminder that you still got it. See your singleness as an act of choice; because you want to be, not because you’re not worth it.

Treat yourself

Declare it a “your name” day. Get a super cool hair cut, or a pedicure, or swing by the spa and get a full on massage. It’s your call. You could even get the rest of your single friends and have a mixer/party at your house. Seriously, who says single people can’t have all the fun?

Take pictures

Take a picture of you looking fine as hell and upload it on your social media. I may, as well, be the only one who does this, but there are some days where I would wake up, dress up, put on some serious make up and have a mini photo shoot in my room, with my phone on a stand and the camera timer of course, then edit them afterwards. It’s a fun way to pass the time, plus , your pretty pictures will definitely make your happy. That’s some of mine above if you don’t believe me.

Go to a restaurant

That’s right, dress up nice, then take yourself out to eat. Who says you have to be on a date to eat good food? Take advantage of this time you have alone and evaluate your life, make plans for the future, appreciate the beauty of the environment, bask in the peace of silence. Trust me, there’s so much you can do when you’re alone.

Get yourself something you’ve always wanted

You heard me, splurge!  Why whine about the absence of a partner who gives nice things when you can just get them yourself. That hair you’ve always longed for, that car you’ve constantly dreamed about, that wine that’s always calling your name. Get it for yourself today. Sure you might wince a little but the happiness that would fill your heart once you unwrap the package, and the subsequently satisfaction of knowing you did this yourself is well, worth the wince.

Now I am anticipating Sunday. LOL

Would get back to you on Monday to let you know if I could put any of the ideas to action. (I think number 2 and 3 points are certain) hehehe.
